KENA CUMMING CORMIER
Kena was born and raised in Penticton. After a short stint in Vancouver, she returned to the Okanagan, making Kelowna her home for 24 years. During that time she raised three children, ran a small boutique, Artwear Okanagan, took and taught courses at Okanagan College, pursued her artwork and became involved in a variety of committees. In 1991, she began working at Cumming Jamieson Insurance, a family business with over 70 years history in Penticton. She moved to Penticton with her husband, Lawrence Cormier in December, 1995. Together they created the Cormier Art Studio B & B featuring both an art and garden sculpture gallery showcasing their artwork. They are enthusiastically entering their 8th year in the hospitality industry. Kena considers herself a proud Pentictonite. She is an advocate of the huge role tourism plays in our community. She would like the opportunity to give back to the community by focusing her energy and expertise on a committee whose role in the community is key for success, not just for those in the hospitality industry, but the population as a whole, allowing Penticton to step forward as a world class destination.
