Penticton, BC, the “City of Festivals” offers year-round festivals and events from wine to ale, from arts to history, from entertainment to sports to traditional celebrations such as the Childrens Festival, the Jazz Festival, Elvis Festival and the Meadowlark Festival. Some of the highlights of this year’s festivals and events are below.
Penticton is the proud host to the Annual Subaru Ironman Canada Triathlon, where thousands of athletes and volunteers line the streets every August to participate or support this international event. The 2009 Ironman Canada Triathlon will be on August 30th.
Participants will test their strength and endurance by swimming 2.4 mi (3.8 km), biking 112 mi (180 km) and running 26.2 mi (42.2 km). Ironman Canada is not for the faint at heart.

Every April, brew masters from across the Pacific Northwest load up a

The Peach Festival has been a summer tradition in Penticton for 62 years. Taking place from August 5 to 9, 2009, the Penticton Peach Festival features a whirlwind week of family entertainment at Okanagan Lake Park, a pancake breakfast, sandcastle competitions, music concerts, one of BC's largest parade, plus a kiddies parade, food vendors, crafts and much more, including our annual Square Dance Festival. The Meadowlark Festival is an annual opportunity to discover, experience and explore the natural beauty and diversity of the South Okanagan and Similkameen Valleys. From June 26 to 28, 2009, the annual Elvis Festival brings to Penticton lively performances by tribute artists plus some headliners. The festival will take place at different venues throughout Penticton, BC including the Okanagan Park on Lakeshore Drive beside the Lakeside Resort, to the Convention Centre. There will be everything from pancake breakfast, food & refreshment vendors, and a fabulous gospel show.
